Harrison, workers reach tentative agreement

Harrison Medical Center and its Professional and Technical workers represented by UFCW 21 have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract.

Harrison Medical Center and its Professional and Technical workers represented by UFCW 21 have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract.

“After two long days of mediation, our ProTech bargaining team unanimously reached a tentative agreement with Harrison Hospital,” UFCW 21 Spokesman Tom Geiger said June 19.

Negotiations between the hospital and ProTech workers got under way a year ago. Last week, the workers, who had rejected a final offer from the hospital, overwhelmingly voted to authorize a one-day strike. A federal mediator oversaw bargaining sessions all day June 17 and 18.

Meetings are being scheduled for June 26-27 for the ProTech workers to review the contract proposal, have their questions answered, and vote on the tentative agreement.
