The Dare Not To Swear! T-shirt design contest culminated Tuesday, with BHS senior Justin Burns’ design taking top prize.

Contestants joined Madonna Hanna’s advanced fashion marketing class for cake, a celebration and the unveiling of Burns’ design.

“I hope people like the design,” Burns said. “I had a few other ideas, but they didn’t work out.”

Burns used a made-up character, “Potty Mouth,” to illustrate the downsides of swearing.

“We had a lot of great ideas,” Hanna said. “I think Justin is a great artist.”

Members of Hanna’s class wore the T-shirt around campus Wednesday, hoping to advertise Burns’ design and the anti-swearing message.

Burns received $200 from his neighbor’s church, helping to fund the T-shirt contest.
