The Hansville Arts & Craft Guild Studio Tour takes place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 25-26. Seven studios in the Greater Hansville Area, representing nearly 20 artists, will be open to the public. Maps showing the participating studio locations are available at the Hansville Store and Hansville Auto Repair. The event is free.

The Hansville Arts & Craft Guild Studio Tour takes place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 25-26. Seven studios in the Greater Hansville Area, representing nearly 20 artists, will be open to the public. Those will visit five or more sites will be entered in a prize drawing. Some of the artwork at the studios will include oil and watercolor paintings, embroidery, sandcarvings on glass, mosaics and other hand-crafted items.

Kitsap Arts & Crafts meeting April 7

Kitsap Arts & Crafts will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. April 7 at North Kitsap Fire & Rescue headquarters station, 26642 Miller Bay Road, Kingston.

Plans are underway for the 49th annual Kitsap Arts & Crafts Festival to be held in Port Gamble July 25-27.

Kitsap Arts & Crafts scholarships available

Applications are now being accepted for the 2008 Kitsap Arts & Crafts scholarships and available at counselors’ offices at North Kitsap and Kingston high schools, Spectrum Community School and West Sound Academy. Application deadline is April 15.

All North Kitsap high school students pursuing the study of arts in college are eligible to apply. Scholarships are $2,000 per year and renewable for three years.

Kitsap Arts & Crafts is entering its 49th year and has awarded over 195 scholarships since 1975. For more information, e-mail wntitus@centurytel.net.

Eglon plant, craft, bake sale in May

The Eglon Community Spring Plant, Craft and Bake Sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at the historic Eglon Schoolhouse.

The event features local artwork, handcrafted items, garden-ready flower and vegetable plants and fresh-baked goods. The coffee is always hot and if you arrive early, the smell of hot cinnamon rolls fills the schoolhouse, creating an atmosphere for neighborly visiting.
