Truck buries new Acura in dirt

Semi-truck cuts the corner too closely and loses load — on top of a new car.

SOUTH KITSAP — The owner of a one-month-old Acura had every reason to feel dumped on Wednesday morning — in more than one way.

Ho Song had parked his new vehicle next to the Hi-Way Market on Bethel Road in South Kitsap while working in his father’s store. But at about 9 a.m., a semi-truck carrying a load of fill dirt cut the corner of Bethel Road a touch too close, which dropped one side of the truck’s loader into a ditch and dumped the dirt load on top of Ho’s new vehicle.

The vehicle’s owner was fatalistic about the accident, telling onlookers that he was more worried about the fate of his set of golf clubs in the back end of the Acura. A crew of workers armed with shovels eventually dug out the car from under the pile of dirt.
