Ferry spans set to go into place on BI

A short but quick reminder: The Bainbridge Island ferry terminal will be open to passengers only Sept. 7 through 3 a.m. Sept. 13.

Washington State Ferries also will only be using one of its vessels from the BI-Seattle route. The other is in Kingston to help with expected additional usage there. Other options are walk-on ferries from Bremerton and Kingston to Seattle and the WSF boat between Bremerton and Seattle.

The closure is needed as crews lift new pedestrian walkway structures into place on Bainbridge Island. Four large bridge spans are being stored in the regular vehicle holding area on Bainbridge Island.
