It was standing room only at North Kitsap Stadium June 13 as family, friends and the broader community celebrated North Kitsap High School’s class of 2025 at its graduation ceremony.
The ceremony featured an honor song from Suquamish Tribe singers, performances by the NK High band and choir, speeches from superintendent Rachel Davenport and many valedictorians, the presentation of diplomas and the turning of the tassels. Outgoing principal Bob Marshall was not present as he was attending his son’s graduation ceremony at Gig Harbor High School.
“I had the great honor of watching our students grow not just in academics, but as people of character, curiosity and compassion,” Davenport said. “Tonight is a testament to your resilience, dedication and potential.”
Valedictorian Elizabeth Stanford spoke about how fast high school went and to live in the moment.
“The years blew by in a blur of memories. I am grateful for the late-night study sessions, school dances, pictures at the waterfront, football games, especially the ones against Bainbridge…and all of the moments with our friends that shaped who we are today.
“Enjoy every moment. If high school went by this quickly, imagine how fast the rest of our lives will go. Don’t forget to stop and appreciate each moment,” Stanford concluded.
