Disability cruise, lighted parade coming up

Winterfest event

The tree lighting at Winterfest in Bremerton will take place at 6 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Naval Museum.

Santa and others will arrive by fire truck at 5:30, and the Bremerton High School band will perform until the tree lighting.

Free pictures will be available with Santa from 6-7 p.m.

On Dec. 8, a free showing of the holiday classic movie “Polar Express” will take place at 1 p.m. at the Roxy Theatre.

Also, Bremerton’s First Friday Art Walk will be from 5-8 p.m. Dec. 2. Music, art and gifts will be part of the festivities, along with vendor pop-ups.

Boat events

For the 75th year, the Bremerton Yacht Club will have its Lighted Boat Parade, along with the 39th year for the Persons with Disabilities Holiday Cruise.

The parade will be Dec. 16 at 6:10 p.m. at Phinney Bay through Port Washington Narrows and then Sinclair Inlet. On Dec. 17, another parade will go from Phinney bay through Oyster Bay and all of Dyes Inlet.

As for the cruise, it takes place Dec. 4. Boarding time is 2:30 p.m., and it will return to the dock at 3:15 p.m. Santa will greet guests at the dock at 3:35 p.m. for photos.

Holiday concert

Local singer-songwriter Alessandra Rose is teaming up with the nonprofit The Roxy Bremerton to stage a performance of Holiday Classics at the Roxy Theatre Dec. 11.

She will be joined by singer-songwriter James Lanman with bandmates Christopher Jones, Colby Ostheimer and Jason Swanson.

Rose and Lanman are celebrating the release of their new single “Blue Christmas,” which is a retro country feel mixing Elvis with Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash.
