At least 20,000 car enthusiasts are expected to visit Port Orchard’s waterfront area Sunday, Aug. 14, to peek, ogle and gaze at upwards of 600 cars on display for the 29th annual CRUZ 2016 car show. Show time is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It is hosted for the 19th consecutive year by the Saints Car Club of Port Orchard. Visitors will be able to wander among the array of classic, customized, hot rod and racing cars that will be lined up along Sinclair Inlet.

Three featured cars and a customized truck festooned with the Seahawks logo in blue and green headline the show.

The show is sponsored by Kitsap Bank. Trophies will be awarded in 60 categories. There will be plenty of door prizes given out, along with food sold by vendors, and lots of music.

Bay Street will be closed to traffic during the show. Organizers remind those coming to opt in taking the shuttle service from the Kitsap County Courthouse parking lot on Cline Street and the Park and Ride lot next to the Armory on Mile Hill Drive.

The Bremerton-to-Port Orchard foot ferry also will be running on a regular schedule, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Aug. 14.

The show is free. To register and display your vehicle at the show, you’ll need to arrive between 7 a.m. and noon on the day of the event. The registration fee is $15.

CRUZ 2016 organizers are asking those attending to bring along canned goods for the South Kitsap Helpline food bank.

CRUZ 2016 t-shirts and sweatshirts will be available for purchase.
