SILVERDALE — Whaling Days, the annual summer festival that celebrates family and fun, will be held July 29-31 in Old Town Silverdale.
This family oriented, nonprofit festival began in 1972, and is run exclusively by volunteers. Proceeds from the festival go to the local community through charitable contributions and scholarships.
This year’s festival will include the Whale of a Run, hosted this year by Meals on Wheels Kitsap, as well as the parade that will march through the town of Silverdale, booths, food vendors and live entertainment.
The event schedule includes:
Friday
5-10 p.m.: Carnival rides, beer and wine garden
5-8 p.m.: Information booth
10 p.m.: Fireworks over Dyes Inlet
Saturday
7 a.m.: Silverdale Rotary Pancake Breakfast (ends at 11 a.m.); Whale of a Run registration opens
10 a.m.: Grand Parade
11 a.m.: Carnival rides and the street fair start
Noon: Beer and wine garden opens
Sunday
7:45 a.m.: Dyes Inlet Dash registration opens
9 a.m.: Dyes Inlet Dash canoe races
11 a.m.: Street fair and information booth opens
Noon: Beer and wine garden opens
1:30 p.m.: Silverdale Rotary Duck Race
