FISH PARK: The monthly work parties at Poulsbo’s Fish Park will be the third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Sept. 20. The public is welcome to join in to help this nature park grow into an urban experience for all to enjoy. A variety of tasks will be available each month, including eradicating noxious weeds, blackberry removal, park clean up, the planting of trees and shrubs, and more. Info: (360) 779-9898.

TOWN HALL MEETING: The North Kitsap Republican Women are sponsoring an old-fashioned town hall meeting at the Poulsbo Fire Station from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 26. County commissioner candidates will hear transportation-related concerns. Refreshments will be provided.

DOCENT CLASS: The Poulsbo Marine Science Center will host a training class for new volunteers from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 27. RUMMAGE SALE: The Poulsbo Sons of Norway annual rummage sale will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is welcome.

ROTARY ROSE SALE: Poulsbo Rotary is offering one dozen long-stemmed roses for the price of $20. Purchase funds will go to Eli’s Place, scholarships, food for those in need, and other significant community projects. The last day to order is Sept. 21. The roses will be delivered in mid October. STILLWATERS’ USED BOOK SALE: The annual Stillwaters Used Book sale at 26059 Barber Cut Off Road in Kingston will run through Sept. 28. There are 15,000 – 20,000 books, new and used, covering all subjects, fiction and non-fiction, almost all priced $1 or less. Donations of new and used books are needed and accepted any time. MAKE HISTORY: The committee of the new Poulsbo history book is searching for local residents older than 80 who were born in Poulsbo and still live here. Make yourselves known by calling (360) 697-3033 or dropping off a note to the committee at the Book Stop in downtown Poulsbo. The committee would like to know the year you were born, and a little about your life in the community. Please leave your phone number or address.

LYME DISEASE SUPPORT GROUP: A support group for people with Lyme disease meets from 3-5 p.m. the first Saturday of every month on Bainbridge Island. Contact for meeting location and info: Barb (206) 842-5491.

KAFFE STUA: The Poulsbo Sons of Norway offers a Kaffe Stua luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays. It is open to members and the public and features open-face sandwiches, soup, pickled herring, Scandinavian desserts, coffee and more. Cost is $9 per person.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The Kingston Historical Society meets in the Indianola Room of the Kingston Community Center at 10 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month from January to October. The group works to collect stories and preserve pictures of Kingston and its vicinity. Visitors are welcome.

ARTISTS’ LEAGUE: The Poulsbo Artists’ League meets from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday at Vinland Lutheran Church at 2750 NW Finn Hill Road. Info: Mike Clayton at (360) 692-3901.

MCS SUPPORT GROUP: The Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Support Group meets from 1-3 p.m. the last Monday of the month at the Poulsbo Library. Members suffer severe reactions to perfumes, cigarette smoke, car exhaust, dryer sheets, building materials, etc. At the meetings, members explore health-improving ideas, employment, housing, safe products and friendship. DISASTER PREPAREDNESS: The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and American Red Cross have partnered to develop a disaster preparedness presentation for seniors.
