TOWN HALL MEETING: The North Kitsap Republican Women are sponsoring an old-fashioned town hall meeting at the Poulsbo Fire Station from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 26. County commissioner candidates will hear transportation-related concerns. Refreshments will be provided.

DOCENT CLASS: The Poulsbo Marine Science Center will host a training class for new volunteers from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 27. RUMMAGE SALE: The Poulsbo Sons of Norway annual rummage sale will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is welcome.

STILLWATERS’ USED BOOK SALE: The annual Stillwaters used book sale at 26059 Barber Cut Off Road in Kingston runs through Sept. 28. There will be 15,000 – 20,000 books, new and used, covering all subjects, fiction and non-fiction, almost all priced $1 or less. Donations of new and used books are needed and accepted any time. FISH PARK: The monthly work parties at Poulsbo’s Fish Park will be the third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Sept. 20. The public is welcome to join in to help this nature park grow into an urban experience for all to enjoy. A variety of tasks will be available each month, including eradicating noxious weeds, blackberry removal, park clean up, the planting of trees and shrubs, and more. Info: (360) 779-9898.

MAKE HISTORY: The committee of the new Poulsbo history book is searching for local residents older than 80 who were born in Poulsbo and still live here. Make yourselves known by calling (360) 697-3033 or dropping off a note to the committee at the Book Stop in downtown Poulsbo.
