Bremerton police are investigating the theft of two bricks from the Kitsap 9/11 Memorial at Evergreen Rotary Park.

Chief Steve Strachan said the theft took place at about 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Surveillance footage shows a young man and woman taking the bricks, which could be purchased by donors and include personalized messages.

“We are actively looking for these two,” Strachan said. “Tips can go to Det. Keith Sargent at 473-5775 or can be sent anonymously on our website (at www.ci.bremerton.wa.us)”

In the videos, a white female suspect has brown hair in a bun. She was wearing red/orange pants, Converse style shoes and a dark long-sleeve shirt with three large white letters. A male from the footage was wearing a dark jacket, grey pants, white/grey shows, a light/dark green striped stocking hat and carrying a backpack.

Strachan said the theft was discovered the morning following the incident by a groundskeeper. It was then that the surveillance footage, from prominently placed cameras near the memorial, was reviewed.
