BREMERTON – There will be no happy new year for a Bremerton man who now faces first-degree murder charges related to the case of a missing Tracyton-area man.

On Dec. 31, the Kitsap County Prosecuting Attorney amended criminal charges previously filed against Robert Lee “Bubba” Pry, 29, of Bremerton. Pry was arrested by sheriff’s detectives at a residence in East Bremerton Dec. 22.

Pry had been earlier charged with robbery in the first degree, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a stolen firearm. Total bail is now $1.1 million. Pry also is being held on a no-bail charge of escape from community custody, filed by the Washington State Department of Corrections.

Pry is connected to the ongoing case of the robbery of Robert Archie Hood, 89, who resided in the Tracyton Boulevard area of Silverdale, on NW Barker Creek Road. Hood is missing and was last seen by his caretaker during the afternoon of Dec. 16 at Hood’s residence.

The Kitsap County Coroner’s Office is searching for the next of kin of a deceased person found Wednesday in North Mason County. The body is believed by sheriff’s investigators to be connected to the missing man case. Confirmation and public release of the identity of the remains is on hold, pending family notification.

A seventh person was also charged today by the county prosecuting attorney for involvement in the robbery: Robert Lavalle Davis, 47, of East Bremerton, was charged with robbery in the first degree and rendering criminal assistance in the first degree. Total bail was set at $500,000.

Davis was arrested Dec. 23 and is being held in Kitsap County Jail on a no-bail charge filed by the Washington State Department of Corrections for escape from community custody.

Sheriff’s detectives expect that the prosecuting attorney will file additional charges in the near future against other persons already arrested and named in connection with this investigation.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives are still looking for Arnold Mafnas Cruz, 47, of South Kitsap, in connection with the case. Significant manpower and resources are being employed to find him.

There is an outstanding warrant of arrest for Cruz on a charge of rendering criminal assistance in the first degree, with bail set at $500,000.

Sheriff’s detectives believe Cruz has changed his appearance. Recent information indicates that Cruz possibly has shaved most of his head. He may have a ponytail and is likely more clean-shaven than in the photos displayed above.

Cruz has had extensive law enforcement contact and is known to carry firearms and edged weapons. He should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

“The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office would like to emphasize that anyone who intentionally withholds information concerning the whereabouts of Arnold Cruz, or who purposely misleads investigators with false information, is subject to investigation with case reports referred to the Kitsap County Prosecuting Attorney for review and possible criminal charging,” KCSO stated in a press release.

Persons with information concerning Cruz are asked to contact Detective Gerald Swayze at 360-337-4479 or Detective Jason Bowman at 360-337-7064, ext. 3731 or Kitsap County Central Communications at 911. Those who wish to remain anonymous may contact Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-8477.
