PORT ORCHARD – A Bremerton man was among the three people who were arrested March 3 by Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office detectives for their alleged involvement in a cocaine dealing operation.
Jacob Ryan Tullis, 20, of Bremerton, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance.
Tullis was allegedly working out of a Port Orchard apartment with Johnathon Michael Grant, 25, and Samuel Grant Means, 22, both of Port Orchard, who were also charged in the case.
The three men were arrested during a traffic stop on SE Lund Avenue in South Kitsap.
An ongoing investigation into cocaine distribution resulted in county detectives obtaining two search warrants: one served on a passenger vehicle in which the men were driving, and the second for an apartment in the 3400 block of SE Compass Lane in South Kitsap.
Means was charged with cocaine possession with intent to deliver and Grant was charged with delivery of cocaine. Bail for the men was set at $50,000 each.
According to court documents, all three suspects were former sailors with the USS Nimitz, and were allegedly selling the drug to a group of active sailors.
Officers allegedly found more than 1/2 ounce of cocaine as well as five $1,000 stacks of currency that were wrapped with rubber bands.
Special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service’s Northwest field office, Poulsbo Police Department’s narcotics K-9 team and West Sound Narcotics Enforcement team detectives also assisted the county sheriff’s office.
One of the suspects that Tullis was associated with was allegedly known to answer his apartment door with a firearm in hand.
All three men denied the charges.
