Bremerton fast, foot ferries ending winter Saturday runs

New schedules are on Kitsap Transit website

PORT ORCHARD — Users of the Bremerton fast ferry and the Port Orchard foot ferry will need to get familiar with the ferries’ switch to their winter schedule on Monday, Oct. 21.

The most significant difference will be the Bremerton fast ferry route’s switch to a one-boat schedule. The new fast ferry schedule can be accessed online at www.kitsaptransit.com/service/category/fast-ferry.

The Bremerton fast ferry route has been testing a two-boat schedule through Oct. 19 while scientists measure beach conditions along Rich Passage to determine whether the service can operate the two-boat schedule year-round, the transit agency said.

Beginning Oct. 21, the Bremerton fast ferry will not operate on Saturdays.

The Port Orchard local foot ferry’s last day of extended Saturday service is on Saturday, Oct. 19. Starting on Saturday, Oct. 26, the last departure will be at 7:30 p.m. from Port Orchard and 7:45 p.m. form Bremerton. The foot ferry schedule is online at www.kitsaptransit.com/service/foot-ferry#.
