American Red Cross seeks heroes in Western Washington

The American Red Cross Western Washington Chapters is looking for everyday people who have performed extraordinary deeds in the region.

SEATTLE — The American Red Cross Western Washington Chapters is looking for everyday people who have performed extraordinary deeds in the region.

Do you know someone who used CPR to save a life, pulled a person from a burning building or went above and beyond to help someone in need?

Starting this October and finishing this spring, the Red Cross will present awards to local heroes who saved lives, exemplified the Red Cross mission or made significant, positive differences in the community in the areas of emergency response, preparedness and prevention.

Nomination information and forms are available at www.redcross.org/wa/seattle/news-events/events/heroes-breakfast/nominate, or by calling 206-726-3543 or emailing kayla.davison@redcross.org. The nominee must be a resident of or employed within Western Washington, or the heroic act must have occurred within Western Washington. Nominations are being accepted on an ongoing basis.

Proceeds from the Heroes Breakfast help support local Red Cross programs and services.

The American Red Cross is a non-profit, humanitarian agency dedicated to helping make families and communities safer at home and around the world. All disaster assistance is free, made possible by the voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.
