Graduation season is upon us in Kitsap County, and students in the classes of 2023 will take their next big steps in life.
As for how to celebrate with the students and their families and friends, here is some need-to-know information:
South Kitsap High School
The graduation ceremony will take place across the bridge from Port Orchard at the Tacoma Dome at 1 p.m. June 10.
About 423 students are expected to take the stage. Each graduate is provided 10 free tickets, and additional ones are available for $2 apiece. No one ages 3 and younger will be ticketed.
South Kitsap’s class of 2023 will be represented by three valedictorians: Lily Fachner, Marissa Jackman and Breanna Viergutz. Ripley Elberfeld will represent the class as salutatorian.
Those unable to attend in person have the chance to watch the ceremony virtually via live stream provided by the school at skschools.org/LiveStream and on SKTV 205 for Astound subscribers.
Bremerton High School
Bremerton will celebrate its class of 2023 at its June 9 graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. in Bremerton High’s Memorial Stadium.
Around 260 students will graduate. The class is led by valedictorian Claire Warthen and salutatorians Sarah Beaumont and Juliana Meyer. A live stream is expected to be provided for those unable to attend the ceremony on YouTube.
Olympic High School
Graduation will be June 15 at 7 p.m. at Integrity Stadium. Doors open at 6 p.m. Each graduate will receive five tickets.
Baccalaureate is at 4 p.m. June 11 at Peninsula Bible Fellowship Church.
The Tailgate Barbecue is June 13 from 5-7 p.m.
The required graduation rehearsal starts at 9:30 a.m. June 15. Before that at 8:30 is the Senior Breakfast. Graduates will then walk through the OHS halls one last time.
June 15-16 is the Senior Graduation Trip to Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho. They leave after graduation at 10 p.m.
Central Kitsap High School
Graduation will take place at the CKHS Stadium at 1 p.m. June 17.
Ticket allocation went from four to five this year. The event will be live-streamed for those who can’t attend.
The school is located at 10140 Frontier Place NW in Silverdale.
All students are required to be in cap and gown at 8 a.m. for practice at Cougar Field. Light lunch will be served at noon. Each participating senior will receive one campus parking pass. CKSD will also post a recording of graduation ceremonies. Off-site parking with shuttle service to and from campus will be available.
Senior Breakfast is June 16 starting at 7:30 a.m. Required graduation practice will begin at 8:45 at the main CKHS gym. Graduates need not wear cap and gown at that practice. Graduates will have an opportunity to select who they would like to walk with and sit next to.
June 15 is the last day of classes for seniors.
A Baccalaureate Service will take place June 11. It is parent-sponsored, not school-sponsored. It will be at 4 p.m. at Peninsula Bible Fellowship Church.
Klahowya Secondary School
Klahowya will send off its class of 2023 on its home football field June 16 at 6 p.m.
Seniors will be the access point for tickets to this ceremony as well, and they are required for admission. Children ages 2 and younger do not need a ticket and additional tickets are available upon the requests of graduating seniors.
Representing Klahowya as valedictorian is Annabel Day, along with salutatorian Shane Porter. A live stream is expected to be shared on the school’s social media sites and the school website.
