BREMERTON — A 25-year-old Bremerton woman was charged with manufacture of marijuana after Sheriff’s deputies and Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents discovered 206 marijuana planets and a THC extraction lab in her home on Nov. 25.

Officers were tipped off to the presence of the marijuana grow and obtained a warrant to search the home. The plants were allegedly being grown for sale on the black market.

“Under current medical cannabis law, a person may have up to 45 plants in a collective garden. It was clear that (the woman) was well over the legal amount of authorized plants,” a KCSO report stated.

The woman is the wife of an active duty service member.

Officers found processed THC extract in the kitchen that appeared to be within reach of the woman’s 2-year-old child.

A butane THC extraction lab was allegedly found in the upstairs bathroom. The lab could have posed a potentially lethal fire and asphyxiation hazard to adults and children in the area, the report stated. The butane THC lab had not been used since the summer. The residents switched to a different method of THC extraction which used ice water instead.

Two children were locked in their bedroom at times so they would not have access to the marijuana while it was being tended nor when THC was being extracted.

A ledger that appeared to be a record of cannabis sales was also found.

The woman’s children were taken into protective custody and placed with Child Protective Services.

Bail was set at $35,000.
