Earn $5,000 for summer research program at UW

SEATTLE — Participate in research at the interface of biology and engineering at the University of Washington and receive a $5,000 stipend.

The UW’s Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering is sponsoring a summer research program for veterans on the UW Seattle campus.

For 10 weeks, participants in the Research Experience for Veterans — University Projects (REV-UP) work in a laboratory and are mentored by a graduate student, a post-doctoral trainee, and a professor. Participants work with teams on projects with defined goals and also attend lectures and seminars on relevant topics.

REV-UP participants also take part in a poster session and a research symposium at the end of summer.

REV-UP alum Justin Thompson said taking part in the program changed his career path. Read about his experience and what he’s up to now at http://csne-erc.org/engage-enable/post/how-summer-research-program-revived-one-student’s-interest-science
