The new year will be as busy as the old year | Hansville Happenings

This New Year’s resolution is to not be as busy. Let me see, what can I quit doing?

Well, another year is under my belt, and where oh where did the time go? They say “Time marches on” but I feel like it’s doing a double step. So this New Year’s resolution is to not be as busy. Let me see, what can I quit doing?

I can’t give up bingo at the Hansville Community Center, nor can I give up the once-a-month Neighbors Luncheons, and helping with the annual Rummage Sale is a must. And I wouldn’t want to miss the Wine Tasting Party or the Hansville Ladies Aid Dinner Dance, or the Eglon Christmas Program, or the Local Artists Workshop at Driftwood Key followed by the Holiday Craft Show. And I really wanted to join the Need-to-Knit Group, and the Mahjong Group at the Little Boston Library. Oh, and I plan to join the Garden Club; goodness knows I need to belong to this group.

Of course, I’ll be at the Picnic in the Park and the Car Show, and the Christmas Concert again, and last summer  the  Pinewood  Derby and the Coaster Games were a fun thing so they’re on my go-to list again.

Oktoberfest is on my list too, and taking our relatives and visitors to tour the Point No Point Lighthouse. The Ladies Aid Garden Tour was great and the kids really enjoyed the Halloween Party.

Sprinkle in playing bridge twice a month (or more); the two Hansville Community Book Sales; the Red, White and Blue Breakfast that I can’t do without; next year’s Ladies Aid Christmas House Tour; the Memoir Writing Group; the Fiction Writing Group at the Little Boston Library; and all those swimming parties at Shorewood and Swim Exercise Group at the Driftwood Key pool — whew!

I’m going to be just as busy this coming year, but what fun I’ll be having. Want to join me?
