Locally owned movie theaters offering Tuesday night discounts for seniors

The Historic Orchard Theater in Port Orchard, Olympic Cinemas in Bremerton, Bainbridge Cinemas and the Historic Lynwood Theater on the island — four local theaters showcasing a breadth of mainstream, independent and offbeat releases owned and managed by the Bainbridge-based Far Away Entertainment — are offering $4 admission to senior citizen movie-goers for both matinees and evening shows each Tuesday.

Four locally owned Kitsap movie theaters are now offering discounts to customers age 60 and older, on both admission and concession prices, Tuesday nights.

It’s a limited-time offer in response to the challenging economic environment, Far Away managing partner Jeff Brein said in a press release sent out last week, hoping it will enable movie-goers to visit the theater on a more frequent basis.

Also on those Silver Cinema Tuesdays, concession prices on soda and popcorn will be discounted for seniors as well. All other days of the week, regular senior admission rates ($6.50-$7) and regular concessions price will apply.
