Lighted boat parades Dec. 9 in Port Orchard, Dec. 16 in Poulsbo

POULSBO — The Port Orchard Lighted Boat Parade will take place on Dec. 9.

The Santa Boat will deliver messages to people on shore. The cruise route is from Southworth to Port Orchard.

Decorate your boat, load up the family and friends and enjoy a very merry winter cruise. To participate, attend the captains meeting in the clubhouse at 11 a.m. Dec. 9. Contact Dave Printz, ddprintz@aol.com or 360-731-6856.

The 48th annual Poulsbo Yacht Club Lighted Ships Parade starts at the Poulsbo Yacht Club marina at 5 p.m. Dec. 16. Boats will proceed directly to downtown Poulsbo, then head south, following the west side of Liberty Bay, to Keyport at about 5:50 p.m. Next, boats will cross to Manzanita Bay, then up the west side of Bainbridge Island through Agate Pass to the Suquamish dock at about 7:40 p.m. Boats will return back down the west side of Agate Pass to Point Bolin, then north to Lemolo and the east side of Liberty Bay, ending at the Liberty Bay Marina at approximately 9:15 p.m.

If you would like to participate, contact Bill Whiteley at 360-440-8082 or bill3@whiteley.us. “We continue to emphasize safety, so please sign up early so we can get you the Boat Lighting and Course Safety handout,” the yacht club reported.

After the parade, boaters will gather at the clubhouse to present awards, have some mulled wine, and share snacks.

Santa Claus will be portrayed by Larry Harper; Randy Linamen will be the voice of Santa. The Santa Boat will be the O’Morchoes’ “Majestic Lady,” and leading the way as the Rudolph boat will be the Brookes’ “Overexposure.”

If you know of anyone who wants a greeting from Santa, email santa@poulsboyc.org or lightedships@gmail.com.
