Celebrating Fat Tuesday in style: Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort event helps local causes

Feb. 28 was an evening to remember. Members of 18 non-propfit organizations — adorned in sequins, boas and beads of various colors — paraded their decorated Mardi Gras floats through Suquamish Clearwater Casino. Casino patrons voted on the best decorated floats. While each entry won a prize to help fund their community projects, three winners won big with $1,000, $2,000 and $3,000 grand prizes, respectively: Olympic College Alumni Association, Summit Assistance Dogs and Suquamish Garden Club. More than $13,000 was donated to the various organizations, while the float parade was enjoyed by all.
