Keep the commercial heart of Poulsbo on Front Street

I see the proposal for the recycling center lot is likely to include more commercial space. I am very concerned that we have miniature sprawl going on.

Front Street storefronts go vacant while people build somewhat less interesting and definitely less easy to get to commercial locations along Highway 305. You cannot easily walk from the hardware store to the grocery to the sweet shop along Highway 305. In addition, I am concerned there is too much commercial space throughout Poulsbo for the available commercial traffic, increasing the risk of business failure as a result.

Vacant commercial locations are depressing and make a town less appealing to live, work or play in. Adding affordable housing is wonderful, but keep the commercial heart of Poulsbo on Front Street and keep Poulsbo inviting to pedestrians and fully occupied.
