It’s time we admit we’re at war

I do not know specifically the point of the editorial page cartoon (reference the huge bomb over a lone terrorist surrounded by, what, innocent people?). But I do feel it is time that people in this country realize and admit that we are in fact at war.

You only have to look now at what just happened in California. This is not a gun control issue but terrorism come home. It is time that politicians and bleeding-heart liberals face that these radical Islam, Muslim extremists, or whatever you choose to call them, do not operate under the rules of the Geneva Convention and therefore neither should we in our efforts to combat them and protect the innocent people in our country.

Until we stop pussyfooting around in the Middle East and believing the politicians that we are successfully combating terrorism we will continue to be increasingly at risk of future innocent people dying and/or being injured by these lunatics who have no respect for life.

So, if some so-called innocent people in the Middle East are killed in our attack on terrorists where they live and operate out of, so be it. In effect, they are helping their cause by not fighting against them. You cannot be at war with idealists that have no problem in cutting off heads of innocent people and other inhumane acts of violence and, unfortunately, not operate at full force (if we fought Hitler as we are now fighting these extremists, do you think Europe and the world be different now?).

What will it take? Wait until we’re hit with a nuclear weapon?
