Cinco de Mayo taco feed was a great success

On behalf of the North Kitsap and Kingston High School Graduation Night Committees, we would like to thank Tom Hall and all the helpful, generous and caring employees of Central Market who were so instrumental in making our Cinco de Mayo Taco Feed on May 1 such a great success. Central Market has always been a stalwart supporter of countless community groups and causes in North Kitsap. By providing this opportunity for our two committees to raise funds for our seniors’ graduation night events, the management of Central Market has once again shown their commitment to the community and to the students of KHS and NKHS. A huge “Thank you,” must also be extended to all the community members who stopped by to partake of the fantastic food and who donated so generously to our cause.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the greater North Kitsap area community members and businesses for their generous contributions to our joint fundraiser dance and silent auction, “United We Dance” on April 17. Special thanks should go to the Poulsbo Eagles Aerie #3586, the rockin’ band “Never Been to Utah,” NKSD School Board member Dan Weedin, Ellen’s Cakes and Catering, Suzanne Droppert and Liberty Bay Books and all those too numerous to mention here who donated goods and services to our silent auction.

Contributions to both the silent auction event and our Taco Feed at Central Market will go toward providing safe, chaperoned, drug-and-alcohol-free events for our graduates to celebrate their accomplishments, all night long, together one last time on their respective Graduation Nights. Our goal is to keep our kids safe and off the roads on graduation night, while giving them an all-night party they’ll never forget. Dollars raised help us keep ticket prices as low as possible and provide scholarships for those who are unable to afford the ticket price.

We wish we could thank each and everyone one of you who have given so generously. It truly “takes a village” to make events like these successful. Both Poulsbo and Kingston are very caring villages.
