State disciplines local health care providers

OLYMPIA — The state Department of Health has taken disciplinary actions or withdrawn charges against the following health care providers in Kitsap.

The Pharmacy Commission suspended the pharmacy technician credential of James B. Dawson (VA00046829) for at least three years. The pharmacy where Dawson worked fired him after he arrived for his shift under the influence of alcohol.

The Secretary of Health revoked the home care aide credential of Christopher Scott Guthrie (HM60466090). In 2016, Guthrie was convicted of fourth-degree assault – domestic violence, disqualifying him from being employed as a long-term care worker and as a home care aide.

The Secretary of Health ended probation for chemical dependency professional trainee and chemical dependency professional Tina Louise Posadas, also known as Tina Louise Woods (CO60318186, CP60520147).

The Medical Assistant Program entered an agreement with certified medical assistant Ambar K. Bruce, also known as Ambar K. Quichocho (CM60381450) that requires her to participate in a substance abuse monitoring program. In 2016, Bruce entered a drug court program after being charged with two counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner Program entered an agreement with respiratory care practitioner Elizabeth Vazquez Strand (LR60242051) under which her credential is indefinitely suspended. A psychological exam indicated Strand’s disabilities make her unable to practice safely.
