SILVERDALE — Dana Soyat is the new president of the Kitsap County Association of Realtors, succeeding Lynn Williams, who resigned but remains active in the association.

Williams is a broker at Reid Real Estate in Port Orchard. According to the association, he resigned Wednesday, saying he plans to continue to serve as an active member of the association’s Government Affairs Committee and will frequently attend future meetings of the board as a past president.

Williams served four non-consecutive terms as president.

By unanimous vote, the association’s Board of Directors appointed President-elect Dana Soyat as interim president. Soyat is an agent with Windermere Real Estate in Port Orchard.

Soyat will serve as president until the annual election in September; the unexpired term of president will be included on the ballot and the winner will serve from the annual meeting in September until Dec. 31.

As president-elect for 2013, Soyat will automatically become the association’s president in 2014.
