Thanem named Comfort Keeper of the Month

Lisamarie Thanem, a certified nurses assistant, was named Comfort Keeper of the Month for February by 2011 Comfort Keepers In-home Care.

Along with recently receiving her nursing assistant license, Thanem completed her certified senior care specialist silver (homemaker) level and will be completing the gold (personal care) level soon. She has been with Comfort Keepers since August 2010.

“Her kind, compassionate heart shines every single day,” said Lisa Jacobson, office manager.

KEDA names Steele champion of the year

Russell Steele, chief executive officer of Port Madison Enterprises, was selected last week as “economic development champion of the year” by the Kitsap Economic Development Alliance.

Steele was selected because of his long-standing support for economic development throughout Kitsap County, according to a statement.

Steele has been a long-time director of KEDA and currently serves as treasurer. Port Madison Enterprises is the business arm of the Suquamish Tribe.

Co-op hosts ‘Grow your own’ event

Kitsap Community Food Co-op is hosting “Grow your co-op” event April 2. Attendees can help develop fun and creative ways member-owners and their friends can help the co-op grow and achieve its membership goals.
