Manchester Library’s Salmon Bake and Book Sale coming up

The popular benefit for the Friends of Manchester Library organization is celebrating 50 years

PORT ORCHARD — This summer marks the 50th year of the Annual Father’s Day Salmon Bake and Book Sale to benefit the Friends of the Manchester Library nonprofit organization.

The popular event, a summer mainstay for the Manchester and South Kitsap area, is set for Sunday, June 16 at the Manchester Library, 8067 Main St. E. The combined events will run from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Proceeds raised from the events go to the Friends of the Manchester Library organization, which maintains the library’s building and funds certain aspects of its operation, including an early reading program and after-school access for students.

Tickets for the salmon bake are priced at $15 for adults, $10 for children 6-11 and $5 for children younger than 6.

Dinner will include roasted salmon cooked over an open fire, coleslaw, baked beans, garlic bread, a drink and a cookie.
