POULSBO — A Bainbridge Island man was taken into custody following a two-vehicle car accident on State Route 305.
Michael G. Cunningham, 78 year old, was charged with driving under the influence and hit and run, stemming from a car accident that occurred on SR-305 Tuesday evening. He is currently being held at Kitsap County Jail on $50,000 bail.
Cunningham’s 1996 Ford F-150 pickup was traveling southbound on Route 305 approaching the Masi Shop. A 2006 Honda Civic with an 18-year-old male driver from Suquamish and his 17-year-old passenger from Indianola was stopped as it was about to make a left turn into a private driveway. The F-150 hit the Civic from behind and continued on down the road where Cunningham was apprehended by Washington State Patrol.
The 17-year-old female passenger complained of back, shoulder and abdomen pain on scene. She was transported by aid to Harrison Bremerton. The driver of the Honda Civic was not reported to be injured.
