POULSBO — Bellringer came within a few hundred dollars of the halfway point Monday as it continues its climb to the ultimate goal of $30,000.

By 2 p.m. Dec. 11, the fund had collected another $4,795, which adds to the many successful days it has already enjoyed. An anonymous donor gave a $2,000 check and a bunch of toys as both Bellringer and North Kitsap Fishline’s Toy Store benefitted from the community’s generosity.

Mike Brooks, owner of Mike’s Car Wash in Poulsbo, is once again donating a portion of his proceeds during this month to give the fund a boost.

Even with the much-appreciated generosity, Bellringer still has more to go before it reaches its $30,000 goal. But it’s been a good week so far, with nearly $5,000 in donations.

The North Kitsap Herald is still collecting items for the toy store, but today is the last day of the drive.

Donations to the fund can be dropped off at the Kitsap Bank branch in Poulsbo Village or the North Kitsap Herald office, 18887 Highway 305, Suite 700. Donations can also be mailed to Bellringer Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Poulsbo, WA 98370. The help number of the fund is (360) 697-6087.
