Now that the weatherman says spring is here, please make sure Port Gamble is one of your stops throughout the year.
Iditarod Days – Join us as we welcome home Laura Daugereau, Washington’s first woman to complete the Iditarod Race and one of Port Gamble’s own. We know many of you read her daily adventures through the newspaper reports and online, so now come hear her story in person and meet one of dogs, Bella. Laura completed the race in 13 days, 2 hours, 21 minutes and 13 seconds. She placed 64th among the 96 mushers who started the race in Willow, Alaska, 16 of whom had scratched through Saturday. Among the 10 rookies from the lower 48 states, she was second only to Jennifer Freking of Duluth, Minn. Out of the total of 33 rookies, she came in 16th, and was 12th among the 22 women racing this year. Laura will be speaking at 2 p.m. May 4 and May 10 and 7 p.m. May 13. Space is limited, so reserve your space now by calling (360) 297-8074 or at www.portgamble.com.
Port Gamble Sunday Market – As we start our sixth year for our Sunday Market we are excited for the changes that will be happening. The market will operate 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Sunday. The market is located on Puget Way, next to the Maintenance Shop. We will have many returning vendors plus exciting new vendors from all over the area.
We want to thank those die-hard vendors who have weathered the rainy spring that has been upon us – if they are there selling their goods, please make sure and come out to see them.
