Filming of the horror flick, “Zombies of Mass Destruction,” took place in Port Gamble from the last week of October through the week before Thanksgiving, creating quite a buzz in the North End and bringing flocks of curious onlookers from all over West Sound. Many locals got to be in the film as extras after a call for background characters and zombie crowds was put out and bounced all over the Web. Pictured above, “ZMD” director Kevin Hamedani on Oct. 26 races between sets preparing a large crowd shot. In the background, dressed in a gray suit and getting fussed over by makeup and prop crew, local Steve Rusk gets ready to play a security aide in the scene.
