And in the same spirit of seasonal changes, Port Gamble is putting away the scares in exchange for holiday cheer. The Port Gamble General Store will be kicking off the holiday season with their sixth annual Holiday Open House from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 14.

The Port Gamble General Store will be kicking off the holiday season with their sixth annual Holiday Open House from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 14.

At this annual event, they turn the historic general store into a wonderland of trees, unveil their highly touted holiday merchandise, and celebrate the beginning of the season with live music, cookies and coffee, giveaways, and a SALE — 20 percent off all holiday merchandise and decor.

There will be a benefit for the North Kitsap Fishline with Corks for a Cause, a tasting and food pairing gala from 6-8 p.m. Gift wrap will be provided for purchases. Rumor has it Santa and Mrs. Claus could even make an appearance. Come and see Kitsap’s Holiday Destination at the Port Gamble General Store & Café!

Port Gamble Theater rounds out 2015 season

The question is a simple one … do YOU believe? Santa is coming to the Port Gamble Theater’s classic holiday favorite “Miracle on 34th Street” Dec. 4 – 20, with a special matinee at 2 p.m. Dec. 12 in conjunction with the Port Gamble Country Christmas.

Port Gamble Bay Cleanup: Project update

The Port Gamble Bay Cleanup Project is well underway and noticeable changes on the historic mill site can be viewed from the town site above the old mill. Weekly construction updates are now rolling out.

The cleanup process aims to eliminate threats to human health and the environment, while minimizing the impacts of the cleanup.

Ghost Walk Tour dates are filling up fast

The popular annual Ghost Walks run from 7-10 p.m. October through March and typically sell out fast. Take a guided tour of Port Gamble highlighting the town’s history, paranormal experiences and includes stops in the Walker-Ames House, Historic Museum, Post Office, old morgue and the Buena Vista Cemetery.

Here are the available dates:

Dec. 5, Jan. 9, Feb. 6 and March 5.

Participants must be 16+ to attend. $25 per person and reservations required. Call us at 360-297-8074 for reservations and availability.

Breaking News from Tango Zulu

Tango Zulu is opening a new store on Bainbridge Island in November at 146 Winslow Way West in Winslow Green.

It will be the third location for the fair trade store, which got its start in Port Gamble in 2010 and expanded to Pioneer Square in Seattle in 2014. The new store will offer handmade clothing and housewares from around the world, and will specialize in African baskets.

Stay up to date with the trail closures

Pope Resources is conducting a timber harvest to thin portions of our property south of Port Gamble beginning in March and ending in November. Please remember that there is NO HUNTING.

For the safety of our visitors and for our contractors, some roads and trails will be temporarily closed during the thinning operations. All trails and roads that are temporarily closed will be maintained and re-opened after the harvests are complete. For trail updates, visit www.portgamble.com.
