POULSBO — A 77-year-old Poulsbo woman was uninjured after she drove her Dodge sedan approximately 5 feet into Dahlquist’s Fine Jewelry in Poulsbo Village yesterday. Crews from the Poulsbo Fire Department responded to the call at about 1 p.m. to the shop near State Route 305.

According to a report from the fire department, the woman thought she was putting on her brake when she pushed the accelerator, breaking through a 10- by 10- foot glass window and damaging a display case, some furniture and a small brick wall.

“We are very glad no one was hurt,” said Poulsbo Fire Battalion Chief Chris Morrison. “There was an electrician inside the building standing on a ladder, the vehicle landed just five feet away.”

Official damage estimates are unavailable at this time. Poulsbo Police are investigating the incident.
