Child taken to hospital following Kitsap Transit crash

A 3-year-old boy from Bremerton was taken to Harrison Medical Center Wednesday for neck and back pain after the Kitsap Transit bus he was in was rear-ended on State Highway 303.

A 56-year-old Bremerton man was driving his Land Rover south on State Highway 303 near Franklin Avenue at 12:21 p.m. when the bus slowed for a bus stop and the Land Rover struck the bus from behind, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol. There were 11 passengers on the bus and the child was the only one injured enough to be taken to the hospital. The driver of the Land Rover was unhurt.
