It’s Christmas time in Bremerton

As the Bremerton High School marching band paraded joyously through downtown Bremerton Friday evening it became quite clear that the Christmas spirit had finally arrived.

Holiday tunes served as the prelude to Santa’s arrival to officially light the Christmas tree outside historic Building 50, which now serves as the Naval Museum of the Pacific.

From there holiday crowds crossed the Manette Bridge for “Magic in Manette” as Santa was joined by the Ice Princess in extending the holiday spirit throughout the city at Domstadt Park.

Among those in the crowd was Matthew Keogh and his family, who braved the cool winter night’s air, to enjoy both events as they welcomed in the holiday season.

“We’ve been coming for the past two years and it’s great,” Keogh said, as he along with his wife and three children, waited for Santa’s arrival.

Both events, sponsored by the Bremerton Main Stream Association and the Manette Business Association, are part of what makes Bremerton such a great place to live, Keogh said.
