Poulsbo native earns scholarship

Jessica Cook, a native of Poulsbo and 1997 graduate of North Kitsap High, has been named a Liberace Scholar and will be the recipient of a merit-based scholarship provided by the Liberace Foundation, along with the Nevada Community Foundation and Columbia College, Chicago. Cook, who is a senior mu

sical theater major, will graduate from Columbia College Chicago in May 2009.

Help needed with budget

For the first time, parents, staff and community members are being asked to volunteer to help create recommendations for the school board to use in planning the 2009-10 budget.

To volunteer for the work group, please go to www.nkschools.org, and click on “Volunteer to help build the budget.”

The kickoff meeting to begin this budget development process is at 7 p.m., Nov. 6 in the Kingston High School Commons.
