A Bremerton man was arrested early Thursday morning after leading a Washington State Patrol trooper on a chase. He was Tased after failing to comply with the trooper’s commands, according to WSP.

Trooper Rich Kinney was on patrol along Kitsap Way around 1:15 a.m. when he observed a white Chevy truck traveling 52 mph in a 35 mph zone. He attempted to stop the truck and it sped into a residential neighborhood.

The truck eventually pulled into a driveway and the 48-year-old driver was ordered out of the vehicle. He stepped out of the truck and began walking toward other police officers. The trooper deployed his Taser, striking the man in the back, according to WSP.

The man was booked into Kitsap County Jail on charges of DUI, felony eluding, first-degree driving with a suspended license and not having an ignition interlock. Bail is set at $50,000.
