From Aug. 5-8 there will be a Hiroshima-Nagasaki Weekend of Remembrance and Action at the Ground Zeo Center for Nonviolent Action in Poulsbo, 16159 Clear Creek Road NW.
There will be speakers, music, a protest at the nearby base, camping and food.
Highlights Aug. 5 include: Registration at 9 a.m.; retired US Army Col. Ann Wright at 10:30; panel discussion on “The Intersection of Climate and Nuclear Weapons” at 11:45; Welcome peace walkers at 1 p.m.; nonviolence training at 3:30; rally at Trident Submarine Base gate at 6; Rainbow Coalition Death Cult concert at 7:30.
Aug. 6: Breakfast at 8:30 a.m.; legal consequences of civil disobedience at 10:30; discernment, action planning and letter writing at 11:30; interfaith service at 2 p.m.; action and dance rehearsal at 3; departure for those attending From Hiroshima to Hope in Seattle; Tom Rawson concert at 7.
Aug. 7: 5:30 a.m. breakfast; walk to sub-base gate at 6; vigil and action at gate at 6:30; debrief and cleanup at 8:30.
