Prescription Drug Take Back event is Saturday

PORT ORCHARD — The Walmart Supercenter in Port Orchard will be hosting a DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, to help individuals dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescription medications.

The store is at 3497 Bethel Road SE in Port Orchard.

According to a federal Drug Enforcement Agency news release, “Proper disposal of unwanted medication is key to reducing opioid misuse and diversion.”

More than 600 stores and clubs across the nation are participating in the community service event, the agency said.
