The Kitsap County Parks Department is proposing a project which could see a historic fishing pier rebuilt at Hansville’s Norwegian Point Park.

A public meeting on the project is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Greater Hansville Community Center, located at the Buck Lake County Park.

Kitsap County has owned the 5.68-acre Norwegian Point Park since 2005. Hansville was once known for its fishing resorts.

PND Engineers of Seattle was hired as a consultant to create conceptual designs for a new pier. The presentation will include a history of the site and address construction challenges and site characteristics, including data from an underwater survey.

For more information contact the Kitsap County Parks Department at (360) 337-5350.

The Greater Hansville Community Center is located at 6959 NE Buck Lake Rd.
