BROWNSVILLE — Authorities have identified the victim in a fatal early Monday morning single-vehicle crash that occurred on Brownsville Highway NE.

Jonathan Robert Quinn, 30, of East Bremerton, was the sole occupant of a 2005 Nissan Frontier pick-up truck that went off the road on the northbound side of Brownsville Highway.

In a statement, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said investigators reported that the truck appeared to be accelerating when the driver lost control and went off the shoulder. Momentum carried the truck over an embankment where it hit a tree, rolled and then came to a stop on its side.

It is believed the crash occurred about three hours before a man on his way to work reported it at 6:28 a.m.

Emergency crews from Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue found the truck about 30 feet off the shoulder at the bottom of the embankment.
