GRAHAM — Torre DiGiovanni and Jason Sauer each drove in three runs as South Kitsap (2-1) trounced Graham-Kapowsin (2-2) in its first league game, 12-0, in five innings.

After the Wolves scored five runs in the top of the first, junior Jacob Duarte settled in on the mound, shutting out the Eagles over five innings, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out nine.

Head coach Marcus Logue said the offense went a little flat in the third and fourth, but South Kitsap would end up going home early thanks to a five-run fifth inning that included a bases clearing double by DiGiovanni.

Central Kitsap (2-3) rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but fell short in their comeback bid against Peninsula (3-1-1). Nate Grobins came in for the one-out save to extinguish Central Kitsap’s comeback hopes.
