BREMERTON — A corndog, a bag of fresh cool grapes and a compelling story to read (“The Cat in the Hat”): Life couldn’t get much better for bright-eyed Agnus Peck, her two brothers, Henry and Dominic, and her older sister Miriam as Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent reads to the children on a recent sunny afternoon at Kiwanis Park.

The Summer Reading program rotates between Kiwanis, Blueberry and Manette Parks. The program runs through Aug. 12.
