Kingston, North Kitsap prepare to battle for Regionals | Baseball

POULSBO — Both Kingston and North Kitsap varsity baseball teams are preparing for the District tournament.

The tournament begins May 8. Game 1 (Sumner and Sequim) and game 2 (Olympic and Fife) are at Franklin Pierce. Game 3 (Foster and Interlake) and game 4 (Kingston and Franklin Pierce) will be played at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds.  Foster and Interlake play at 4 p.m. Kingston and Franklin Pierce play at 7 p.m.

The winner of the Kingston/Pierce game move on to play number 1 seed White River May 9 at the Fairgrounds at 7 p.m.North Kitsap plays the winner of the Sumner/Sequim game 2:30 p.m. May 9 at Franklin Pierce.

Kingston earned the number 9 seed into Districts with a 11-2 win over Sumner May 5.

North Kitsap earned the number 3 seed into Districts following a 1-0 loss to Lindbergh May 5. Both teams already had first-round byes in Districts.

Following the loss to Lindbergh, North Kitsap won 3-2 against Port Angeles. The loss seeded PA at number 4 in the second round of Districts.

The teams are in contention for placement in the regional tournament. Five of the 12 teams will advance.
