Kitsap Pumas will face California club
The Kitsap Pumas Soccer Club will face the California Cougars at 7 p.m. Friday. The home game will be played at the Olympic Soccer and Sports Complex (Pendergast Park) in Bremerton.
The indoor soccer team is currently playing in its inaugural season as part of the Professional Arena Soccer League. Tickets for Friday’s game will be sold at the door and online.
The doors open at 6 p.m. Adult tickets are $7. Tickets for kids ages 4-15 are $5. Children under four years old are admitted for free. The Pumas are in fourth place in the PASL’s pro division with a 2-1 record. The Cougars are still looking for their first win, starting the season 0-3. Olympic High hosts bowling clinic
The Olympic High School girls bowling team will host a bowling clinic for elementary-age students. The team will host the clinic from 1-3 p.m. on Dec. 20. The clinic’s goal is to teach bowling etiquette and and basic bowling skills. The clinic will take place at All Star Lanes in Silverdale. The cost is $15 per child, which is payable at the clinic. Olympic High swim team loses
The Olympic High School boys swim team lost to Port Angeles High School Tuesday.
The Roughriders beat the Trojans, 110-73. Olympic’s Craig Boekenoogen won the 50 freestyle event with a time of 26.38. Olympic swimmer True Loan won the 100 fly with a time of 1:04.99. The Olympic relay team, which consisted of Kevin Mears, Christian Webel, Seth Bailey and Loan, won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:49.11. Mears also won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:16.92.
Olympic Duals tournament announces teams
The Olympic Duals wrestling tournament announced the 16 participating teams for the Dec. 11 event at the Kitsap Sun Pavilion. The schools include Klahowya Secondary School, Olympic, South Kitsap, Central Kitsap, Yelm, North Kitsap, Hudson’s Bay, Bremerton, A.C. Davis (Yakima), Graham-Kapowsin, Union, Thomas Jefferson, Peninsula, Wenatchee, Auburn-Riverside and Heritage high schools.
