Kingston’s Ruby Roberts wins 1,600-meter championship | State track and field results

Kingston High senior Ruby Roberts won the state championship in the Class 2A girls 1,600 meters Saturday in Tacoma. Roberts completed the race in 4 minutes, 53.27 seconds, more than six seconds ahead of second-place finisher Annie Moore of Sehome High. Roberts’ time was also a personal best.

Kingston’s Nick Schippers placed third in the boys 1,600 meters, with a time of 4:22.60. Teammate Jaime Schultz was fifth in the girls 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 47.71 seconds, fifth in the long jump, with a distance of 16 feet, 1 inch, and eighth in the triple jump, with a distance of 34 feet, 7.75 inches. The Kingston girls 4×400-meter relay team of Roberts, Tatum Larson, Sarah Wahl and Melia Beckwith placed eighth with a time of 4:12.40.

At the Class 3A state finals, North Kitsap High’s girls relay team of Siara Byers, Melissa Kunold, Addie Carion and Indigo Williams placed second in the 4×100 meters, with a time of 49.50 seconds, and fourth in the 4×200 meters with a time of 1:45.77.

The boys 4×100-meter relay team of Alex Flores, Alex Fuchs, Tolen McGregor and Paolo DeGuzman took fifth with a time of 43.56 seconds.

Alex Flores placed fifth in the boys 200 meters, with a time of 22.69 seconds.

Tabor Reedy was 10th in the boys 1,600 meters, with a time of 4:24.35.

Elizabeth Staker took seventh in the girls 800 meters, with a time of 2:22.40.

Reagan Colyer was seventh in the girls 100-meter hurdles, with a time of 16.22 seconds.

Siara Byers was eighth in the girls 100 meters, with a time of 13.34 seconds.

Alexandra Lanzafame was 10th in the girls long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 10.25 inches, and 13th in the triple jump with a distance of 32 feet, 2.5 inches.
