At the Gallery | Monotype series reflects two artists on the island
Published 3:55 pm Thursday, April 29, 2010
Bob Carlson and Dick Weiss, friends and colleagues in the glass art world, spent the last two decades working up a series of collaborative monotype portraits. Each artist worked on half the plate, creating two sides to the portrait and two interpretations of the same face, giving the viewer a psychological examination of both the subject and the creators. The exhibit runs Sunday, May 8, to Saturday, June 19, at 7869 Fletcher Bay Road on Bainbridge Island. The gallery is open by appointment, and there will be an opening reception from 6-9 p.m. May 8 and an artist talk at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 12.
